Nature Education Programs & Camps
Kurt Valenta (aka Mr.K), Franklin VT dad, is teaching nature classes and camps full time through his business, Exordium, Inc. Visit the web-site http://www.exordium-adventure.com/ and watch for announcements of camps and events held around the county. His programs are very popular with homeschoolers! Some groups meet on a regular basis.

Exordium’s Outdoor Learning Program is based on the successful VINS and Four Winds nature instruction offered to elementary schools through-out Vermont. Using HANDS-ON NATURE from Vermont Institute of Natural Science as the reference text, topics are presented through discussion, images and puppet shows. Students are invited to participate through interactive play, skits and discovery exercises. These lessons can be presented either as stand-alone sessions or grouped as separate themes: Adaptations, Habitats, Cycles, Designs of Nature and Earth & Sky, and taught over several sessions.

Exordium, in addition to this structured program, offers week-long summer day camps organized around specific themes in the nature and science or nature activities suited to the site where the camp is to be given.
